Only place in town!  Literally, almost—there’s a pizza place and a Subway down the road...

I had coffee, lunch, more coffee, a giant glass of tea and dinner here while I waited at different times of day for the sun to swing around to where I needed it— while taking photos of the new FEMA shelter near the high school in Jasper.

They make real malts...

I had a good chunk of time in the afternoon and went for a short hike a little south of town.  Beautiful trail.

I decided that day that I should never be caught again without proper hiking shoes.
